Putting It Together

Assembly is genuinely one of the easier desk-gadget builds I've done. You lay everything out, the mesh basket clips onto the frame, and the clamps thread through the two mounting holes. It took me under ten minutes solo, no drama. If you've ever built flat-pack furniture, this is nowhere near that level of effort — it's closer to "put the pieces where they obviously go."

This is where the tray earns its price. The clamp mechanism tightens directly onto the desk edge and it genuinely does not budge once it's secured. I loaded mine with a power strip and a handful of adapter bricks and there was zero sag, zero shifting. No adhesive means no risk of damaging the desk finish, and no drilling means I didn't have to commit to a permanent hole in a desk I might replace someday. If you rent your space or just don't want to mess with your furniture, this is exactly the kind of mount you want.

The Size Problem — Read This Before You Buy

Here's the honest part. This basket is small — roughly 4.7 x 3.4 inches — and that's the one thing you need to plan around before ordering. If you're running a single small power adapter or a compact charging brick setup, it's genuinely spacious enough and you'll have room to spare. But if you've got a full-size power strip, especially anything wider than about 6-7 inches, it is not going in there flat. You'd need to stand it on its edge, and even then it's a squeeze.

Am I being too nitpicky about this? Maybe a little — for what it's meant to hold (adapters, a compact strip, the usual cable slack), it does the job. But if your setup looks like mine, with a laptop, two monitors, a MacBook cable, a phone charger, headphone charger, and a cable for a sit-stand desk all fighting for space, one of these baskets alone won't cut it. You'd likely want two, or a bigger tray entirely if you're trying to consolidate everything into one spot.

Once it's up, it disappears the way it's supposed to. I tucked my surge protector in and ran the rest of the cable slack through the mesh, and the difference from the floor-cable chaos before is night and day. No more vacuuming around a nest of cords, no more tripping hazard, no more mystery tangle every time I need to unplug something. For the price, it's a legitimately good upgrade to how a desk feels day to day — it's just not a one-basket-fits-all solution.

Who Should Buy This?

If you've got a lighter cable load — a laptop charger, a small power adapter, maybe a compact power strip — this is a great, cheap way to clean up your under-desk area without committing to anything permanent. If you're running a full multi-monitor battle station with a wide power strip and half a dozen bricks, either budget for two of these or size up to something bigger from the start. Measure your power strip before you order — that's genuinely the only thing standing between a great experience and a "well, I need another one" experience.
